From Beirut with love
I have recently been invited to give a three-hours talk at the Arabic University in Beirut (Lebanon). It’s wonderful to find out time and time again that our quest for happiness is really universal.
All these Arabic university students and their professors enjoyed the basis insights of positive psychology and “The World Book of Happiness”. Even when their country is going through a harse period and this is reflected in the evaluation of their own happiness and the quality of life in general. Lebanese people have always shown some kind of positivity, based on resilience and optimism. Talking with these students about war, corruption, religion and education we wander the paths of strengths, positive thinking, pride and hope. We share ideas about quality of life, the importance of relationships, self-determination, curiosity, open-mindedness, social cohesion, a meaningful life and how to build it for yourself, for the ones you love and for society as a whole. From Beirut with love.
